Ferienparadies Natterer See

Day trip to Lake Achensee

From lake to lake

Where steam and water meet. Since 1889, the oldest steam cogwheel locomotives in the world have connected Jenbach with the southern shore of Lake Achensee. With a maximum gradient of 16 per cent, the almost 7 km long route takes 45 minutes directly to the boat landing stage on the southern shore of Lake Achensee in Seespitz. A nostalgic ride on one of the three trains of the Achenseebahn is a highlight for fans of the steam-powered railway. Directly on Lake Achensee, the Achensee railway meets the Achensee boat trip in a unique combination. Five ships with a capacity of 40 to 600 people make up the Achensee-Schiffahrt fleet. Two of the liners offer on-board catering and barrier-free facilities. The evening cruises with music, dancing and rock lighting are a romantic experience, as are the numerous special events.
